It estimates tempo and tonal center from an audio recording. BPM means beats per minute; key describes a tonal center and usually a major or minor scale. These are separate results. A steady drum beat can reveal tempo without providing enough pitched notes to identify a reliable musical key.
Both readings can describe different levels of the same pulse. Half-time and double-time counting are common in hip-hop, electronic music, and sparse arrangements. Tap along to the section you plan to use and choose the count that matches its feel. A doubled reading does not mean the audio has changed speed.
Relative major and minor keys share the same notes: C major and A minor are one example. The melody, bass, and chord resolutions help establish which note feels like home. Short excerpts or ambiguous harmony can obscure that context. Use the estimate as a guide, then check the relevant section on an instrument.

Local analysis is free with no account required. Longer recordings and all WAV files require sign-in and the credits shown before you start. Credits are charged once, only after successful cloud analysis. An uncertain BPM or key is still a completed analysis; technical failures are not charged. If your balance changes during processing, delivery can fail without a charge.

If a cloud request loses connection, use Resume analysis to recover the same task without starting another chargeable job. Retrying identical audio may produce the same musical uncertainty.
Analysis does not change tempo, transpose notes, or separate stems. It provides estimates to help you decide what to edit next. You still need an audio editor for time stretching or pitch shifting. Matching BPM and key is a useful starting point for a mix, but it does not guarantee compatible phrasing or arrangement.
